Product Description

What is a hose pump?
Hose pump is a versatile devices used in various industries for pumping fluids. It operates by compressing a flexible tube, creating a positive displacement action. This type of pump is commonly used in chemical processing, wastewater treatment, mining, and food production due to their ability to handle abrasive or viscous materials efficiently.

A peristaltic pump (also known as Hose or Squeeze Pump) is a rotary positive displacement pump which is a simple design consisting of a single piece of hose which is compressed via rollers or shoes moving fluid from the inlet to the outlet of the pump.

Working Principle
Premium Peristaltic Hose Pumps for Versatile Industrial Use

The pump hose is compressed successively by two pressing rollers assembled on a rotor.

The first roller will create a vacuum and attract the pumped fluid into the hose by pressing the hose. Once the fluid has entered the hose, the second roller passes over the hose. This motion pushes the fluid inside the hose toward the pump outlet. As the rollers are rotated, the hose section that was compressed begins to rebound to its nominal state, creating a vacuum that pulls fluid into the hose.

When the roller at the discharge side is detached from the hose, the opposing roller is already compressed. This arrangement prevents any backflow. The pumped fluid is then successfully pulled in and pushed out due to the rotor rotation.

Advantages & Disadvantages of the Peristaltic Hose Pump
Advantages & Disvantages Of the Peristaltic Hose Pump
Advantages   Disadvantages
the tube is the only part of the pump that wears out and can be changed rapidly due to the variability of the tubing, the pump system must be calibrated to reach an acceptable accuracy
the lack of valves and seals/gaskets means less maintenance due to wearing the tubing must be changed over time
peristaltic pumps can handle corrosive and slightly viscous fluids if used extensively or without replacement, the tube may leak
can also be used with delicate fluids. The dispensing is gentle thanks to the low shear forces, making them suitable for use with cutting-sensitive fluids slight pulsation is unavoidable during the operation but can be reduced with the latest peristaltic pump technologies
peristaltic pumps are easy to clean and sterilize, thus guaranteeing zero contamination the flow rate is sensitive to changes in differential pressure conditions
dry operation is possible under certain conditions without damage liquid viscosity might reduce the effectiveness of peristaltic pumps
self-priming design
lower backflow and siphoning
excellent suction capabilities
tolerance to small particles in suspension
reversibility

How to choose a correct peristaltic hose pump?

Step 1: What is your desired flow rate?
The first process condition to be looked at is often the flow rate. This is essentially a combination of pump speed and displaced volume. Speed is defined by the revolutions per minute of the drive, and it is these RPM that are combined with the internal volume of the tubing to determine the flow rate. The volume of liquid contained within the pocket is simply Πr²L where r is the inner radius of the tubing and L is the length of the pocket. Essentially the larger the inner diameter, the greater the volume. Moving this volume faster with a higher RPM drive obviously results in the flow rate being increased. The same is applicable for a slower flow rate.

Step 2: The Tubing selection process
The third consideration is the physical characteristics of the fluid being pumped. What is the fluid, is it corrosive, is it a solvent, what is its temperature and how viscous is it? All of these play a part in the selection of the correct tubing with regards to its size, the wall thickness, its chemical compatibility, and its pressure rating.

Step 3: The environmental conditions where the pump will be used
Lastly, we need to consider the environmental conditions within which the pump will be located. Aspects such as moisture, temperature, possible chemical fumes, or dust all play a part in selecting the optimum housing for the application.

Special Advantages
* Hollow-out Patented Design of the Pump Case with Excellent Ventilation System Our pump is not a completed enclosed fixture as standard pump in the market. The air can go in and out easily with very good heat dissipation effect, which will be good for the pump's operation.
* Patent Design of Rotating Roller with longer service life for the hose Instead of traditional Sliding Shoe Type roller, we use specially designed rotating roller, which will greatly reduce the heat generated by the friction between the roller and the hose.
* Patent Design of the Rotor We have a special design for the Rotor, which makes it easier and more convenient to adjust the outlet pressure.
* Lubricant-free Operation In our design, there is no need to add any lubricants inside, which will make it easier and more convenient to change the hose when necessary, also aviod damages caused by the leakage of the lubricant.
* Easier Maintenance with lower Cost It will be easier and cheaper to change hose as we don't have any lubricant inside.
* No Mechanical Seal Most manufacturers of Peristaltic Hose Pumps take use of lubricant inside. Customers may not be able to assembly the casing 100% sealed after they replace the hose, which may cause problems for the future operations.
* Specially Designed Hoses We design and manufacture the hose ourselves to ensure a long time reliable operation.

Applications

Industrial peristaltic hose pumps are great substitutions for gear pumps and are used in many different types of applications and industries. Some industries in which these pumps are commonly used include the following:
Chemical: The transfer and injection of chemicals can lead to premature pump failure on traditional industrial pumps due to the abrasive and corrosive qualities of these materials and the intensive suction. With the ability to pump abrasive and corrosive materials, peristaltic hose pumps are an ideal fit for the chemical industry.
* Water and Wastewater: For pumps to excel in this industry it requires a pump that can transfer a wide range of fluid viscosity over its life. Being a true positive displacement pump model, optimized peristaltic hose pumps can move thin or thick fluids with a great deal of accuracy, precision and a minimal amount of low cost maintenance.
* Mining: Within the mining industry, pumps maintain operation in extreme situations that can quickly destroy other types of industrial pumps internally, affecting the rotor, valves or seals. In this industry pumps are required to endure very dirty conditions that involve pumping highly abrasion materials such as sand, sludge, slurries, and solid-laden materials. Peristaltic pumps excel in this type of environment.
* Oil and Gas: Similar to configurations in the mining industry, the oil and gas industry is very hard on industrial equipment of all types, including industrial pumps. The simplicity of design, along with the ability of an industrial peristaltic pump to move very challenging abrasive and corrosive materials make peristaltic hose pumps a reliable pump in such a harsh operating environment.
* Agriculture: In the ag industry, peristaltic hose pumps are used to transfer both chemical and fertilizer mixtures, and other solid laden challenging materials with ease, and without requiring frequent disassembly of the pump to remove "stringly, fibrous" materials that are common in agriculture applications, which can cause so many other types of industrial pumps major issues.
* Pulp and Paper: In the pulp and paper industry, metering, mixing, and pumping a wide variety of chemicals and abrasive material is required on a constant basis. These requirements are exactly the strong points of a peristaltic pump's ability.
* Paint and Pigment: For paint dosing and pigment transferring, peristaltic hose pumps protect binders from being exposed to air. This ensures that the mix remains fluid and movable, and avoids solidifying.
* Food Processing: Pumps used in the food processing industry must be capable of transferring fluids and solid laden materials without causing damage to the food product. For most industrial pumps, this type of application is beyond the scope of what a typical industrial pump can achieve. Peristaltic pumps, due to the manner in which the pumps displace fluids and materials, are very gentle on the food product being pumped which makes this type of pump ideal for food processing applications.
